Caroline Catling:

Founder and brains behind the riding school is Caroline. 32 years ago, she started the riding school with a friend who shared her knowledge and expertise about the market. Learning as she went Caroline who had horses and ponies of her own, used her first-hand experience with the animals and business skill to make Turpins Lodge a success.

Abbie Nash:

Abbie also joined the team in September 2019 as yard groom. She made the big move up from Devon with her horse Dude and lives onsite. Abbie achieved a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Equine Care whilst studying at Duchy College. Enjoying long hacks and jumping, Abbie is a friendly face about the yard and ensures standards are kept high. 

Bea Maloney:

Bea is our Friday instructor and has been a part of the team since 2008. With experience in backing and producing young horses, Bea also showed her love for horses by competing in the open team chasing.

 

 

 

John Romer:

John is the backbone to ensuring Turpins Lodge is kept in working order. If something breaks, you know who to call! As well as ensuring standards are kept to a high, John also founded Turpin Brewery in July 2013, an onsite micro-brewery. Specialising in brewing individual craft beers for local pubs as well as special events. John and his team have been rewarded with their efforts, being crowned the winner of the Oxfordshire Beer Festival for three years running. Sibella Valentine:

Sibella first visited Turpins as a customer for her first-ever riding lesson when she was around 8 years old. Now at 38, Sibella has worked as a full-time groom, part-time groom, house sitter and dog sitter. There isn't anything about Turpins Lodge that Sibella doesn't know!

 

 

 

 

Mary Webb:

Joining the team in June 2019 as our Wednesday instructor, with her own horses and first-hand experience, Mary has proven to be a really popular mid-week instructor.

 

 

 

 

Our Weekend Staff:

We are lucky to have a fantastic team of young adults who join the team on the weekends. Ensuring ponies are turned out to the highest of standards and that the yard runs smoothly. 

Coral Ward:

Coral has been Turpins Lodge Sunday instructor for around 9 years and is a firm favourite with the clients. With numerous training certificates and lots of riding experience, Coral can promise to tailor a lesson to you so that you get the most out of it.

Magdalena Tejza:

Magdalena joined Turpins at the beginning of 2019. Making the move here from Poland, Magdalena provides us with lots of unique advice and tips to aid your riding experience. Magdalena is available to teach on a Saturday.
